Travis began his military service as a 12B Combat Engineer in the Nevada National Guard. During this time, he studied at the University of Nevada, Reno, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Military Science.
After commissioning through ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps), Travis served as a Signal Corps officer. He also continued his classical music education, earning a Master of Music from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Travis entered the financial services industry as a Financial Advisor, earning his Series 7 and Series 66 licenses while working at Edward Jones and Wells Fargo Advisors, where he quickly emerged as a leader among his peers.
Travis transitioned to active duty as a Signal Corps officer, leading hundreds of personnel, overseeing mission-critical communications operations, and managing millions of dollars in military assets.
While serving on active duty, Travis was selected to pursue a Ph.D. in History at the University of Southern Mississippi, studying at the Dale Center for War and Society.
While completing his doctoral studies, Travis founded Zero Day Capital to build a modern, fully remote, fee-only fiduciary firm designed to make high-quality financial guidance accessible to people everywhere.
Today, Travis teaches at the United States Military Academy at West Point, continues to serve as an active-duty Army officer, and leads a growing team of financial advisors at Zero Day Capital. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, and their three young sons.
